Mcdonald’s Will Start Offering Adult Happy Meals In October

You knew it was coming. You just didn’t want to admit it!

For a limited time only, Happy Meals won’t just be for kids. McDonald’s teamed up with the fashion streetwear brand Cactus Plant Flea Market to release an adult version of the Happy Meal. It’s going to come with a classic character toy too. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be a Happy Meal, right?

This is what McDonald’s said on its Facebook Page a couple of weeks ago: “One day you ordered a Happy Meal for the last time and you didn’t even know it.”

Mcdonald’s upcoming campaign will give adults a chance to revisit this important part of their childhood. The Adult Happy Meal will be available starting next Mon, Oct 3rd, and will run until Oct 30th.

The box comes with a meal and a classic McDonald’s character: Grimace, the Hamburglar, Birdie and newcomer Cactus Buddy. And if you forgot who the Hamburglar was, then shame on you.

Cactus Plant Flea Market fans can also win merchandise by participating in sweepstakes through the McDonald’s app.

Tariq Hassan, McDonald’s USA Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer said in a statement Tues:

“We’re taking one of the most nostalgic McDonald’s experiences and literally repackaging it in a new way that’s hyper-relevant for our adult fans.”

You bet your sweet, savory goodness they are. This isn’t the first time McDonald’s has teamed up with big pop culture names to boost sales. In 2020, it teamed up with American rapper Travis Scott to market his favorite meal: a Quarter Pounder, fries and a Sprite. In 2021, McDonald’s released the BTS Meal, a collaboration with the South Korean boy band.

So go out and get your Adult Happy Meal kids. I mean, adults. Enjoy it while you can. We know we will.
